Developed for the Porsche 718 Boxster/Cayman, this award-winning center tunnel features a hybrid structure made of Akulon® UDea™ PA66 tapes (GF60 and CF60), metal inserts, and PA66 GF30 injection molding. The component is manufactured in a cost-effective one-shot process and integrated early in the body-in-white stage, without disrupting subsequent paint or assembly workflows. This lightweight design reduces vehicle weight while maintaining safety, mechanical integrity, and thermal stability, even under dip-coating conditions.
